The name of Charles Ross should be synonymous with blues music here in the Tampa Bay Area. Why? Because he is the man that dreamed of, created and started the highly acclaimed Tampa Bay Blues Festival in 1995. Bringing his passion for the blues, along with his organizational talents, he has built a world-famous blues festival that is unrivaled. That first show had approximately 2,500-3,000 blues enthusiasts. Today, that figure is over 100,000 for a 3-day festival. This years’ blues performers are some of the top names in the business such as Samantha Fish, JJ Grey & Mofro, Jimmie Vaughan, Eric Gales, Danielle Nicole, Larkin Poe, The Backtrack Blues Band, and many others.

The Backtrack Blues Band is bases in Tampa Bay and is the longest running blues band in this area. This original blues music band has performed at this festival every year and adds to the list of reasons why you should make this blues festival a priority to experience! Some past performers have all included such notable blues artists as Buddy Guy, Beth Hart, Walter Trout, Robert Cray, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Susan Tedeschi, Tommy Castro, Delbert McClinton, Jeff Healey, and the list goes on!
